Abdominal Retractor Systems

BOSS abdominal retractor sets provide self-retaining exposure for open abdominal and pelvic procedures without a table mount or assistant holding retraction. Seven Balfour configurations and two O’Sullivan-O’Connor sets cover the range from general laparotomy to gynecologic and pelvic approaches.

Balfour retractor sets use a ratcheted spreading frame with paired lateral blades and an optional center bladder blade, holding the abdominal wall open across a midline incision. Multiple blade depths and frame sizes accommodate variation in patient habitus and incision length.

O’Sullivan-O’Connor retractor sets combine a fixed frame with a hinged posterior blade, giving three-sided or four-sided exposure for pelvic and gynecologic procedures where the bladder and posterior wall both require retraction.
